The purpose of the Northern Star Juvenile Diversion Program is to provide youthful offenders with a positive alternative to the court system.

Young offenders will participate in structured activities and group interactions which are intended to improve their understanding and perception of the legal system and law enforcement, increase their self esteem, teach them better methods of communication, and improve their decision making skills.

The goals of the program are to divert youth away from the court system and to reduce the recidivism in the youth that participant.
